A science graduate from Government Science College, Jabalpur, his academic training nurtured a problem-solving outlook and a methodical approach. Grounded in the discipline of scientific inquiry, his education provided him with a practical mindset to address developmental challenges with evidence-based solutions, qualities that would later define his political and administrative career.
Shri Rakesh Singh’s political career began in 2004 when he was first elected as the Member of Parliament from Jabalpur to the 14th Lok Sabha. He went on to represent the constituency for four consecutive terms in 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. Over nearly two decades in Parliament, he earned recognition for his active participation and dedication to the people of Jabalpur.
In 2023, he transitioned to state politics and was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly from Jabalpur West. He was soon entrusted with the important portfolio of Public Works Department in the cabinet of Madhya Pradesh. His journey reflects his deep connect with the masses and his evolution as a trusted leader.
On the organisational front, Shri Rakesh Singh steadily rose within the Bharatiya Janata Party, serving in various roles that strengthened the party at both state and national levels. In April 2018, he was appointed as the President of BJP, Madhya Pradesh, leading the party with discipline and strategy until 2020.
